Chapter
Financial
Obligations
Update
Greetings
from
your
National
Treasurer!
I
hope
that
you,
as
local
chapters
have
had
your
elections
and
are
ready
to
starting
the
New
Year
with
a
sense
of
purpose,
and
a
drive
to
turn
your
ideas
into
actions.
As
2006
begins,
I
want
to
remind
you
of
your
financial
obligations,
as
both
Work
Month
Project,
and
Membership
Dues
are
required
to
achieve
Active
Chapter
status
at
the
National
Conference.
The
National
Board
has
designated
March
as
“Work
Month”.
During
the
course
of
the
month,
chapters
are
to
organize
one
or
more
fundraising
activities.
The
goal
is
for
each
chapter
to
raise
a
minimum
of
$300
from
these
activities
by
the
end
of
the
month.
You
will
note
that
this
year
we
are
making
a
concerted
effort
to
designate
an
entire
month
to
this
project,
as
it
was
originally
intended
to
be.
The
Board
hopes
that
chapters
take
this
obligation
seriously
and
plan
something
worthwhile
that
will
benefit
this
cause,
rather
than
just
writing
a
check
from
your
treasury.
The
second
financial
obligation
is
annual
Membership
dues.
This
is
a
nominal
dollar
amount
that
you
should
be
sure
to
fulfill
as
a
way
of
making
a
commitment
to
your
chapter
and
our
organization
on
the
national
level.
Annual
dues
were
re-instituted
by
the
National
Conference
of
2001.
This
decision
states
that
in
order
to
be
a
“member
in
good
standing”
of
our
organization,
each
individual
is
required
to
contribute
$5.00
each
year
to
National
A.R.O.Y.
Since
most
chapters
already
have
a
“dues
system”,
simply
add
$5.00
to
your
individual
dues
amount.
Chapters
should
work
to
increase
membership
each
year,
and
the
contribution
of
monetary
support
from
its
members
demonstrates
a
mature,
responsible
decision
to
make
our
Church
and
National
A.R.O.Y.
a
priority.
This
also
helps
us
see
how
the
actual
membership
of
our
organization
develops
and
changes
over
time.
A
check
for
Annual
(individual)
Membership
Dues
of
each
chapter
should
be
collected
and
submitted
to
me
by
April
7.
In
recent
years,
Board-issued
deadlines
have
been
disregarded
by
many
chapters.
This
year’s
Board
is
trying
very
hard
to
return
things
to
a
more
professional
level.
In
order
to
help
us
fulfill
this
effort,
please
feel
free
to
contact
me
with
any
questions
or
concerns
you
many
have.
I
look
forward
to
hearing
from
you
and
being
able
to
help
you
achieve
in
your
chapters!
Your
cooperation
helps
us
all.
Yours
In
Christ,
