National Board Member in Need of Prayers

We recently learned that our friend and fellow A.R.O.Y. member Marian Bogdan Maxim of Silver Spring, Maryland, was the victim of a violent robbery as he was making a delivery for his job on Monday, November 28.  As a result, he received severe head injuries requiring major surgery and remains in intensive care at the hospital.  We are told that his prognosis is good, but his recovery will take an extended period of time.

UPDATE - December 2
Bogdan has sent word to us that thanks to God's compassion and the good work of the doctors, he is home and can now begin the healing process.  He is most appreciative of everyone's prayers and visits, especially that of the clergy who visited and prayed with him.  His injuries were life-threatening, but with God's guidance the surgery was successful.  He has a very long road to recovery and asks for continued prayers.

Marian and his family are members of The Protection of the Mother of God Church in Falls Church, Virginia, where he is a dedicated altar server.  He has attended Camp Vatra as student and staff member for many years and was elected this year to the A.R.O.Y. National Board as Member At Large.  In addition, he is active in the R.O.T.C. program for the United Stated Navy.

Friends are asked to refrain from calling during this time as Marian needs significant rest in order to heal.  However, all are encouraged to send him "get well" wishes in the mail at:

Marian Bogdan Maxim
14508 MacBeth Dr.
Silver Spring MD 20906

Please pray for Marian's complete and comfortable recovery.
