Dan
Hoarste

A.R.O.Y.
President |
Dan
Hoarste
was
born
on
June
13,
1982,
in
the
city
of
Fagaras,
Romania.
In
June
1997,
at
the
age
of
15,
he
and
his
family
moved
to
the
United
States
and
established
their
home
in
Dearborn
Heights,
Michigan.
Since
then,
they
have
been
active
members
at
the
parish
of
Sts.
Peter
and
Paul,
in
the
same
city,
where
Dan
is
a
former
altar
boy
and
sacristan,
graduate
of
the
Sunday
School,
former
Sunday
School
teacher,
and
currently
serves
as
a
cantor
and
choir
member.
Dan
has
been
an
active
member
of
the
Sts.
Peter
and
Paul
A.R.O.Y.
Chapter
since
August
1998.
He
has
served
the
chapter
as
a
Conference
Delegate,
Treasurer
and
Vice
President.
He
was
also
the
Treasurer
of
the
51st
Annual
A.R.O.Y.
Conference
(2000).
Dan
has
served
on
the
National
A.R.O.Y.
Board
for
several
years,
having
held
the
positions
of
Member
At
Large,
Religious
Education
Chairman,
President
(2003-2005),
Vice
President,
and
is
currently
serving
as
a
Special
Appointment.
Since
his
first
year
in
this
country,
Dan
has
attended
Camp
Vatra
as
a
student,
staff
member,
teacher
and
houseparent.
In
June
2000,
he
graduated
with
High
Honors
from
Dearborn
High
School
and
graduated
in
2004
from
the
University
of
Michigan-Dearborn
with
a
degree
in
history.
Having
been
tonsured
a
Reader
by
His
Eminence,
Archbishop
NATHANIEL,
in
July
2000,
Dan
is
in
his
third
year
of
studies
at
Holy
Cross
Greek
Orthodox
School
of
Theology.
He
speaks
English,
Romanian,
French,
and
has
a
knowledge
of
Ancient
Greek.
He
hopes
that
the
A.R.O.Y.
will
continue
to
prosper
in
“Faith,
Knowledge
and
Good
Works”
in
order
to
take
our
Orthodox
Faith
into
the
future
and
spread
it.
A.R.O.Y.
is
the
“future
of
our
Church.”
