Tom
Rosco
was
born
in
Saint
Paul,
Minnesota,
on
May
29,
1977,
to
Reverend
Father
Romey
and
Preoteasa
Mary
Ellen
Rosco.
Since
1980,
Tom
has
lived
in
Dearborn
Heights,
Michigan.
He
is
an
active
member
of
the
Sts.
Peter
and
Paul
Romanian
Orthodox
Church
where
he
sings
in
the
Church
Choir,
is
on
the
Parish
Council
(having
held
the
positions
of
Vice
President
and
Episcopate
Congress
Delegate),
serves
on and is chairman of various
committees,
and
has
assisted
in
the
altar
since
a
very
young
age.
He
was
blessed
as
a
Subdeacon
by
His
Grace,
Bishop
NATHANIEL,
at
the
45th
Annual
A.R.O.Y.
Conference
(August
1994).
Tom
attended
Divine
Child
High
School
(Dearborn,
Michigan)
and
was
graduated
with
honors
in
1995. While studying
at
the
University
of
Michigan-Dearborn
for
a
degree
in
business,
he
worked
for
over
five
years
as
the
Administrative
Assistant
at
the
Chancery
of
The
Romanian
Orthodox
Episcopate
of
America. In April 2008, he graduated from the University of Michigan with
a degree in Business Administration. He
currently works as the Business Incentives Coordinator for the City of Dearborn
Heights Tax Increment Finance Authority.
Although
he
has
limited
time
to
pursue
new
projects,
his
areas
of
interest
include travel; graphic & website design;
collecting
rare/unique
icons, crosses & manuscripts; photography;
and
iconography
on
glass.
In
addition
to
his
native
English
language,
he
has
a
limited
knowledge
of
Romanian,
French
and
Ancient
Greek.
Camp
Vatra
has
been
a
regular
activity
in
Tom's
life
for
many
years.
Having
started
as
a
student
in
1989,
he
has
participated
every
year
since, working on the staff since 1991, and
currently
serves
as
the
Assistant
Administrator
of
Camp
Vatra
for
Juniors.
Since
a
young
age,
Tom
has
been
a
member
of
the
Sts.
Peter
&
Paul
A.R.O.Y.
Chapter
and
has
held
several
offices
including
those
of:
Vice
President,
Secretary,
Treasurer,
Auditor
and
Conference
Delegate.
He
has
also
served
as
Chapter
Advisor
and
Chairman
of
the
45th
Annual
(1994),
51st
Annual
(2000),
57th
Annual
(2006), and 59th Annual (2008) A.R.O.Y.
Conferences.
Since
being
first
appointed
to
the
Board
in
1994,
he
has
served
as
Religious
Education
Chairman,
Inter-Orthodox
Representative,
Member
At
Large,
Editor
of
The
A.R.O.Y.
Newsletter,
Auditor,
Treasurer,
and
was
the
34th
National
President
of
the
A.R.O.Y.
(1998-2000).
He
currently
holds
the
positions
of Treasurer again.
Tom
hopes
that
the
A.R.O.Y.
will
continue
to
grow
due
to
the
dedication
and
commitment
of
young
people
to
their
Church.
He
would
like
to
see
this
organization
use
its
voice
to
help
build
and
strengthen
our
Church
in
North
America.
