Tom Rosco
Treasurer

34th National A.R.O.Y. President

Tom Rosco was born in Saint Paul, Minnesota, on May 29, 1977, to Reverend Father Romey and Preoteasa Mary Ellen Rosco.  Since 1980, Tom has lived in Dearborn Heights, Michigan.  He is an active member of the Sts. Peter and Paul Romanian Orthodox Church where he sings in the Church Choir, is on the Parish Council (having held the positions of Vice President and Episcopate Congress Delegate), serves on and is chairman of various committees, and has assisted in the altar since a very young age.  He was blessed as a Subdeacon by His Grace, Bishop NATHANIEL, at the 45th Annual A.R.O.Y. Conference (August 1994).

Tom attended Divine Child High School (Dearborn, Michigan) and was graduated with honors in 1995.  While studying at the University of Michigan-Dearborn for a degree in business, he worked for over five years as the Administrative Assistant at the Chancery of The Romanian Orthodox Episcopate of America.  In April 2008, he graduated from the University of Michigan with a degree in Business Administration.  He currently works as the Business Incentives Coordinator for the City of Dearborn Heights Tax Increment Finance Authority.

Although he has limited time to pursue new projects, his areas of interest include travel; graphic & website design; collecting rare/unique icons, crosses & manuscripts; photography; and iconography on glass.  In addition to his native English language, he has a limited knowledge of Romanian, French and Ancient Greek.

Camp Vatra has been a regular activity in Tom's life for many years.  Having started as a student in 1989, he has participated every year since, working on the staff since 1991, and currently serves as the Assistant Administrator of Camp Vatra for Juniors.

Since a young age, Tom has been a member of the Sts. Peter & Paul A.R.O.Y. Chapter and has held several offices including those of: Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, Auditor and Conference Delegate.  He has also served as Chapter Advisor and Chairman of the 45th Annual (1994), 51st Annual (2000), 57th Annual (2006), and 59th Annual (2008) A.R.O.Y. Conferences.  Since being first appointed to the Board in 1994, he has served as Religious Education Chairman, Inter-Orthodox Representative, Member At Large, Editor of The A.R.O.Y. Newsletter, Auditor, Treasurer, and was the 34th National President of the A.R.O.Y. (1998-2000).  He currently holds the positions of Treasurer again.

Tom hopes that the A.R.O.Y. will continue to grow due to the dedication and commitment of young people to their Church.  He would like to see this organization use its voice to help build and strengthen our Church in North America.
