National
A.R.O.Y.
Board
Meets
at
Cathedral
On
October
21-22,
the
National
A.R.O.Y.
Board
held
their
first
meeting
of
the
year
at
St.
George
Cathedral
in
Southfield,
Michigan
–
the
host
chapter
of
the
recently
held
58th
National
A.R.O.Y.
Conference.
A
majority
of
the
Board
members
were
in
attendance
and
took
advantage
of
the
opportunity
to
discuss
the
expectations
and
objectives
of
the
upcoming
year.
The
meeting
began
at
10:30
a.m.
and
lasted
until
just
after
4:00
p.m.,
with
a
short
break
for
lunch.
Some
of
the
business
discussed
included
the
upcoming
Fall
Sports
Tournament
in
Akron,
Ohio,
a
Christmas
Project
(soon
to
be
announced
to
all
A.R.O.Y.
chapters),
a
review
of
the
58th
Conference,
potential
promotional
and
fundraising
projects,
a
brief
report
on
the
status
of
Project
Mexico
and
future
retreats,
and
other
nationally
sponsored
events.
Committees
were
assigned
and
a
brief
overview
was
provided
for
the
responsibilities
and
potential
of
each
committee.
Among
those
in
attendance
at
the
meeting,
offering
a
kind
welcome,
were
V.
Rev.
Fr.
Laurence
Lazar,
Cathedral
Dean,
and
Stephen
Maxim,
Cathedral
Junior
A.R.O.Y.
President.
At
5:00
p.m.,
all
the
Board
members
attended
Great
Vespers
in
the
Cathedral,
followed
by
dinner
at
a
local
restaurant
at
7:00
p.m.,
accompanied
by
several
members
of
the
local
Cathedral
A.R.O.Y.
Chapters.
The
group
was
then
joined
by
several
more
members
of
the
local
chapter
for
socializing
and
fellowship.
The
weekend
concluded
with
attendance
at
the
Divine
Liturgy
on
Sunday
morning.
Many
