A.R.O.Y.
Spring
Sports
Tournament,
hosted
by
Cleveland
A.R.O.Y.
on
the
weekend
of
April
20-22,
was
a
great
success.
On
Friday
night,
participating
chapters
arrived
in
the
Cleveland
area
and
were
welcomed
at
St.
Mary
Cathedral
for
a
small
reception
and
the
tournament
bracket
drawings.
Saturday
morning
began
with
the
teams
gathering
at
the
gym
for
breakfast
and
a
prayer,
keeping
in
mind
our
principles
of
good
sportsmanship
and
Christian
behavior.
There
were
a
total
of
seven
teams
for
participating
in
the
Volleyball
tournament:

(Southfield

&

(Dearborn

Holy

and

For
Basketball,
five
teams
participated:

Cathedral
A.R.O.Y.,
Sts.
Peter
&
Paul
A.R.O.Y.,
Holy
Nativity
A.R.O.Y.,
and
a
“National”
team
comprised
of
members
of
various
chapters.
After
these
grueling
games,
Cleveland
A.R.O.Y.
emerged
victorious
in
basketball
while
Holy
Nativity
A.R.O.Y.
won
the
volleyball
championship.
That
evening,
the
participants
returned
to
St.
Mary
Cathedral
for
Great
Vespers
and
a
dinner/dance
which
was
well-attended
by
tournament
participants
and
local
A.R.O.Y.
supporters.
Sunday
morning
began
with
Divine
Liturgy
at
St.
Mary
and
was
then
followed
by
a
brunch
in
the
parish
social
hall,
during
which
the
tournament
awards
were
distributed.
We
look
forward
to
seeing
everyone
again
at
the
upcoming
58th
Annual
A.R.O.Y.
Conference
in
Detroit
this
September!
