2007 A.R.O.Y. Benefit Fashion Show Held in Detroit

On Sunday, April 29, over 100 ladies, young and "not-so-young", gathered at St. George Cathedral's Cultural Center for an afternoon of good food, fellowship and fashion.

The afternoon began with a light luncheon, and then the lights were dimmed and the presentation of several fashion lines from 3 local Detroit-area stores began.  "We wanted to make the event an enjoyable afternoon for everyone who attended, and we found that we had a lot of fun ourselves in the process," commented the event chairwoman, Miss Jennifer Roman.  "It was a good opportunity for us to spend the afternoon with our friends and to make new ones.  We hope that this fashion show will grow and become a regular event in future years."

The three stores featured were Gigi's Mode of Plymouth, Nicole Miller of Birmingham, and Sunrise Fashion of Dearborn.  In addition, a few vendors of fashion accessories and beauty products had displays with products available for sale.

Many thanks to the event chairwoman, Miss Jennifer Roman (National A.R.O.Y. Vice President) for coordinating this event, the first of its kind in many years.  Also, thanks to Mrs. Karen Persichino, manager of the Cathedral Cultural Center, for her assistance with the luncheon preparation and other facility arrangements.  And, of course, thanks to the models from the Sts. Peter & Paul and Cathedral A.R.O.Y. Chapters who volunteered their time to participate in this event.

We look forward to other similar events in the future, and remind you that you are all invited to join us again at the Cathedral for the upcoming 58th Annual A.R.O.Y. Conference in Detroit this September!

The highlight of the day was the presentation of several fashion lines, modeled by
members of the Sts. Peter & Paul and Cathedral A.R.O.Y. Chapters.
Even a few young men took their turn on the catwalk...
During the luncheon and intermissions, attendees had the opportunity to visit several
vendor displays in the hall.
Event Chairwoman and M.C. of the event, Miss Jennifer Roman, invites
National A.R.O.Y. President John E. Lazar to the microphone to offer a few words
on behalf of National A.R.O.Y.
The fashion show concluded with formal wear.
